The work presented here is a systematic exploration of the Bender Gestalt Test both as a perceptual test and as a projective test for all children, age 5 to 10 years, regardless of intelligence, neurological functioning, and emotional adjustment. The chief contributions of this work are probably the objective scoring systems which were standardized on more than 1200 public school children. The clinical application of the Bender Test data is illustrated by means of test protocols and case histories of clinical patients and of school children. This book was designed to bring clarification and information to all those clinicians who have been using the Bender Gestalt Test in the past but who were uncertain how to interpret their findings. it is further intended to serve ad an introduction to the Bender Gestalt Test for all those psychologists who have up to now been unfamiliar with the test or who have not been aware of its potential for use with children.
