This book will cover three areas of transport phenomena in microsystems; they are mass transfer, fluid flow, and heat conduction and convection. The purpose of this book is to inform and educate readers regarding the dominant transport mechanisms in micro-domains. These mechanisms are unique and behave differently than our intuition and existing experience when designing and operating conventional systems. Understanding these dominant transport phenomena under different circumstances are needed to better design and engineering the Microsystems to achieve an improved performance and better reliability.
