This volume contains the proceedings of the 25th European Macromolecular Physics Conference on Orientational Phenomena in Polymers, held in St Petersburg, Russia, 1992. It presents a wide range of studies dealing with the mechanism of orienting macromulecules by flow and magnetic fields, by solid phase deformation or expitaxial growth on oriented substrates. Resulting properties, the fine structure, nature, and role of defects and new techniques of producing high-performance polymer material are reported in detail. Attention is given to the rapidly developing field of electrical conductivity and polymers with non-linear optical properties.
