This multimedia CD-ROM, which qualifies for 30 CME credits, contains fifty general radiology cases from the teaching file of Stephen R. Baker, MD. author of the highly acclaimed "Case of the Week" program. Each case consists of an x-ray image, a clue, a multiple-choice question and the corresponding written and audio discussions of radiological findings, clinical correlates and differential diagnosis. The unique and educationally effective audio format permits the option of simultaneous listening and viewing without the distraction of text next to, in place of or superimposed upon diagnostic images. If the viewer chooses the text may be displayed on the screen or printed for later reading. The objective of this program is to provide instruction in the subtleties of conventional radiographic studies including plain films, barium contrast examinations and intravenous urography. The participants in this program will benefit from the interactive presentation. The cases provided include a range of orthopedic, chest, genitourinary, gastrointestinal and neurologic diseases occurring both in children and adults. At the conclusion of the program, the participant will have gained knowledge about differential diagnosis, clinical pertinence, appropriate utilization and radiological findings of each of the diseases demonstrated in these exercises. As a secondary objective the participant will be taught to appreciate the radiological manifestations of artifacts that simulate disease. The program developer is Cel-Tech / Baker Imaging Systems, producers of multimedia multilingual continuing medical education courses on CD-ROM and the Internet for physicians and other healthcare professionals.
