Technology and Assessment of Safety-critical Systems is the proceedings of the second annual symposium of the Safety-Critical Systems Club, held in Birmingham, U.K., February 8-10, 1994.The purpose of the symposium was to look at the various aspects of technology currently used in the design of safety-critical systems, and emphasise the importance of risk management in their design and implementation.There is a careful balance of contributions from industry and academia, and they discuss a remarkably wide range of relevant subjects, from human factors, social issues, and medical systems to programmable logic controllers, Ada, formal methods, reverse engineering and artificial neural networks.
