This book collects articles originally published in the "Journal of Object-Oriented Programming," "ROAD," and "Object Magazine." Two things have changed since the original publication of the articles, principally the time to examine and improve the ideas therein. Second, a common notation has been developed and approved by the OMG called UML. This de facto notation standard includes most of the notions that were important prior to the development of the standard--event diagrams, power types, and constraints--meaning developers and programmers can communicate easily and more accurately. This book contains a set of articles--improved and standardized.
