Global Citizens Australian Activists for Change

This timely book examines the political ideas and activism of nine Australian public intellectuals and activists who are 'global citizens'. These Australians are politically engaged intellectuals who interpret, adapt and promote political ideas, emphasising the global community to which Australians belong. The book shows how these global citizens have helped to shape the nature of political discourse over the past 50 years by broadening the language of political accountability to include human rights and ecological sustainability, as well as keeping alive the values of peace and non-violence.
