This atlas is concerned with the diagnosis of lung cancer by cytological examination of naturally produced sputum. The work concentrates on atypical and degenerate malignant cells and some of the more confusing appearances of benign cells in sputum. Also included are examples of problems encountered in the interpretation of bronchial brushings and washings and also samples of infecting organisms and other abnormal findings. The book should be of interest to screeners and pathologists involved in the cytology of sputum and bronchial aspirates.
