The Gynecologic Resectoscopy

The first volume in the new Minimally Invasive Gynecology Series, the Resectoscope follows the series' aim of providing detailed surgical techniques, practical clinical information and "surgical pearls" from leaders in the use of the resectoscope. Providing first a brief history of the developement of the resectoscope, a looped coil that uses electricity to resect tissue, the book includes chapters covering the use of monopolar current, pre-operative evaluation and decision making, pre-operative endometrial preparation, uterine septa and intrauterine adhesions, removal of intrauterine lesions, controlling menorrhagia by allation, risks and complications, etc. Both editors teach courses on this incredibly useful and inexpensive surgical tool and have collected an international group of contributors. The aim of this book is to give the practicing gynaecologist a comprehensive course on the resectoscope, complete with dos and don'ts, the role of the resectoscope in daily practice, etc
