Most ventricular tachyarrhythmias are associated with some form of cardiac pathology, however, some forms, particularly right ventricular outflow tract tachycardia and fascicular tachycardia can occur in the normal heart. This places pressure on the electrophysiologist to distinguish benign forms from VTs caused by cardiomyopathy, myocarditis, congenital heart disease etc. The aim of the Clinical Approaches to Tachyarryhthmias series is to update the physician, cardiologist, and all those responsible for the the care of patients with cardiac arrhythmias. In this monograph, John Bourke and Colin Doig review our current understanding of normal heart ventricular tachycardia, and update the reader on how recent findings are enabling better physiological understanding, diagnosis and treatment of specific normal heart VTs.
