PROC VTH WORLD CONGRESS, CARDIAC REHAB

This work offers the results of a congress on cardiac rehabilitation. Rehabilitation starts with an evaluation of the gravity of the disease and its possible repercussions. Next comes the possibilities for treatment - exercise, training, psychological support, the fight against risk factors and the medical/surgical treatment appropriate to each patient. All the fields of cardiology are involved in rehabilitation, including the prevention of secondary risks. In general terms, rehabilitation consists of trying to ensure that cardiac patients recover their psychological and functional forces to the maximum extent, and thus regain their emotional balance so that they can resume their place in society again.
