Federal Protective Service Assessments and Federal Facility Security

The security of federal government buildings and court facilities affects not only the daily operations of the federal government but also the health, well-being, and safety of federal employees and the public. In the 112th Congress, legislation was introduced in the House of Representatives and Senate to improve the Federal Protective Service (FPS), the agency charged with responsibility to protect federal buildings. This book provides an overview of the FPS whose mission is to protect more than 9,000 Federal buildings and the 1.4 million Federal employees and visitors who occupy them throughout the country every day by leveraging the intelligence and information resources of its network of public and private sector partners.
