Scleroderma Symptoms, Diagnosis and Treatment

Systemic sclerosis or scleroderma is an autoimmune disease characterised by widespread microangiopathy, immune system alterations and fibrosis of the skin and internal organs. This book presents current research in the study of the symptoms, diagnosis and treatment of scleroderma. Topics discussed include the identification and treatment of the pulmonary manifestations of systemic sclerosis; interstitial lung disease in systemic sclerosis; nailfold capillaroscopy and early diagnosis of systemic sclerosis; localised scleroderma; evaluation of a new CENPB epitope array for systemic sclerosis-associated centromere autoantibodies; and iloprost in the treatment of Raynaud phenomenon secondary to scleroderma.
