Multi-Agent Systems: Design, Synthesis and Analysis

A computer based system which consists of multiple intelligent agents interacting with each other is called a multi-agent system. It is very advanced when compared to an individual agent or monolithic system and can solve problems. The three fundamental characteristics of multi-agent systems are autonomy, local views and decentralization. Multi-agent systems have applications in computer games, films, defense systems, logistics, transportation, graphics, GIS, etc. The objective of this book is to give a general view of the different areas of multi-agent systems, and their applications.
