This book emphasizes on the therapeutic aspects of mental illness. It is important to assess mental illness seriously, to comprehend its nature, predict its long-term outcome and treat it with specific rather than generic treatment, such as pharmacotherapy. Community-wide and cognitive-behavioral approaches are essential methods and should be incorporated to decrease the severity of symptoms of mental illness. Unfortunately, those who should benefit the most by the combination generally refuse treatment or show poor devotion to treatment maintenance. Mental illness cannot be treated with one single kind of treatment method. Individual, community and socially-oriented treatments along with latest distance-writing technologies will allow a more effective and unified approach to fight mental illness world-wide.
