Hematology and Oncology

Hematology is a branch of medicine that is concerned with the study of the cause, treatment, prognosis and prevention of diseases related to blood. The treatment of diseases affecting the production of blood and its components like hemoglobin, bone marrow, blood cells, blood proteins, platelets, blood vessels, etc. is under the scope of this field. Some of these diseases are leukemia, lymphoma and multiple myeloma. These are all cancers of the blood. The treatment of blood cancer is also under the scope of oncology.
