Bone Fracture: Advances in Orthopedics

Medical conditions in which there are partial or complete breaks in the continuity of the bones are known as bone fractures. They are usually caused by force impact, trauma injury, and some medical conditions, such as osteoporosis, osteopenia, osteogenesis imperfect, etc. As there is an absence of nociceptors in the bone tissue, so there are no specific symptoms associated with bone fractures. However, bone fractures can be extremely painful in some cases. Tests like, radiographic imaging, computed tomography (CT) scan and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) are some of the most common tests to diagnose bone fractures.
