Hydrology is the scientific study of the movement, distribution, and quality of water on Earth and other planets, including the hydrologic cycle, water resources, and environmental watershed sustainability. A practitioner of hydrology is a hydrologist, working within the fields of earth or environmental science, physical geography, geology or civil and environmental engineering. Hydrology is subdivide into surface water hydrology, groundwater hydrology (hydrogeology), and marine hydrology. Domains of hydrology include hydrometerology, surface hydrology, hydrogeology, drainage basin management and water quality where water plays the central role. "Recent Concepts and Developmens in Hydrology" contains nine chapters. First chapter ensures the current challenges in experimental watershed hydrology. Groundwater and contaminant hydrology has been described in chapter second. Third chapter presents a review of the effects of hydrologic alteration on management and conservation of natural resources. Watershed-scale hydrological modeling methods and applications have been described in chapter fifth. Sixth chapter reviews the influence of physical properties on actual evapotranspiration. Seventh chapter focuses on environmental change and geomorphic response in humid tropical mountains. Environmental factors that influence geosmin occurence in reservoirs have been described in chapter eighth. The last chapter provides the reclamation of degraded landscapes due to developments in hydrology.
