Nonlinear optics (NLO) is the branch of optics that describes the behavior of light in nonlinear media, that is, media in which the dielectric polarization P responds nonlinearly to the electric field E of the light. This nonlinearity is typically only observed at very high light intensities. The text "Handbook of Nonlinear Optics" contains ten chapters. Efficient forward error correction decoder design for nonlinear optics optical networking has been introduced in first chapter. We describe some schemes for photonic generation of microwave signals with applications in radio-over-fiber systems in second chapter. Third chapter focuses on the improvements of semiconductors lasers by the optical injection locking regimens and its applications for secure optical communication networks. The objective of fourth chapter is to consider the possibility of creating high performance and manufacturable multi-layer (3D) chips in which a processing of information and its mass excahnge between the layers is performed using optical communication channels. Optical intensity modulation has been described in fifth chapter, which is genrally used in optical communication. The two numerical techniques of finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) and finite difference method (FDM) have been addressed in sixth chapter considering extension to the analysis of holey optical fibers with arbitrary air-hole distributions. The online estimation of ARW coefficient of nonlinear optics has been described in seventh chapter. We propose a privacy protection-based data transaction protocol for smart sensor meter in a smart grid in eight chapter. We present novel fiber tractography visualization approaches that provide a more complete picture of the microstructural architecture of fiber pathways in ninth chapter. In last chapter, we provide a comprehensive overview of the beginnings, state of the art, and latest developments of FiWi broadband access networks.
