Overview

Crystallization of polymers leads to ordering and structure formation on various scales. During crystallization polymers undergo a transition from random coils to fully extended or folded conformations while forming quasi-two-dimensional lamellar structures which can further develop spherulitic and other growth patterns on larger scales. Polymer crystalization proceeds far from thermodynamic equilibrium and the resulting crystalline morphologies are usually meta-stable. The non-equilibrium character of polymer crystals is a challenge for their theoretical understanding. "Handbook of PolymerCrystallization" contains nine chapters. First chapter ensures the atomic force miscrocopy observations of the polymer network structure in ferroelectric liquid crystals cells. Analysis of the miscibility of polymer blends through molecular dynamics simulations has been described in chapter second. Third chapter examines polymer biocompatibility with bioadhesives, biomimetic materials, and resposive hydrogels included in pharmaceutical formulations. Fourth chapter presents plant cell wall polymers with function, structure and biological activity of their derivatives. FI catalyst for polymerization of olefin has been discussed in chapter fifth. Sixth chapter reviews the advanced approach on the study of emulsion polymerization with effect of the initial dispersion state of the system on the reaction mechanism, polymerization rate, and size distribution of polymer-monomer particles. Seventh chapter focuses on the survey of equations of state for polymers. Two-photon polymerization fabrication of doped microstructures has been represented in chapter eight. Last chapter provides an epistemology on the nature of polymers.
