Linguistics and Phonetics

"Phonetics deals with the production of speech sounds by humans, often without prior knowledge of the language being spoken. The study of the production and perception of speech sounds is a branch of linguistics called phonetics, studied by phoneticians. The study of how languages treat these sounds is called phonology. Linguistics and phonetics presents a new stance on the presentation of basic phonetic skills for students of linguistics, using examples drawn from a wide-range of languages.
