Coral Reefs: Biology, Threats and Restoration

"Coral reefs are the most diverse of all marine ecosystems. They are so diverse, that are often called the rainforests of the sea. This book provides an integrated overview of the design, physiology, ecology, and behavior of coral reef organisms. It examines the biological aspects of coral reefs and the importance of their existence. Environmental threats to coral reefs are reviewed, and ways in which the coral reef ecosystem can be restored are also discussed. Particular emphasis is presented on conservation and management due to the habitat’s increasingly endangered status.
