Experimental Research Design in Library Research

Research is an academic activity and as such the term should be used in a technical sense. Research comprises defining and redefining problems, formulating hypothesis or suggest- ed solutions; collecting, organising and eval- uating data; making deductions and reaching conclusions; and at last carefully testing the conclusions to determine whether they fit the formulating hypothesis. An introduction to library research, the book exposes students to the concepts and skills necessary to find information using the appropriate tools. It is self-paced and intended to be a resource that students can turn to for library research meth- ods.
