Digital Research in Library and Information Science

Library and information science (LIS) is a merging of the two fields library science and information science. The phrase "library and information science" is associated with schools of library and information science (abbreviated to "SLIS"), which generally de- veloped from professional training programs to university institutions during the second half of the 20th century. Digital libraries rep- resent one of the most rapidly-growing fields, and the career opportunities are increasing dramatically.
