An Atlas of Hysteroscopy

This is a colour atlas, in large format, of diagnostic hysteroscopy with accompanying text explaining its use as an office procedure. The introductory section covers hysteroscopic instrumentation, video equipment, the hysteroscopic technique, and indications and contraindications for diagnostic hysteroscopy. The practical utility of this atlas-text is explained by the authors in their Introduction: "Hysteroscopy offers an excellent method of evaluating the uterine cavity visually, providing the opportunity for directed biopsies of clinically suspicious lesions, and in some cases, their direct treatment or removal. "As an office procedure, hysteroscopy allows the gynecologist to safely and efficiently incorporate this method of diagnosis as a routine procedure for symptomatic patients, sparing the patients inconvenience, cost, and undue stress and concern."
