Asia and Europe Facing the Technological Revolution

In the last ten years, three main information and communication advanced technologies (ICT) linked to spectacular scientific progress in the computer sciences, optoelectronics and electronics have intersected: GSM technology (mobile phones), satellite TV, and the world wide web. The effects of these new technological breakthroughs are presented in this book, with a focus on understanding the economic, social, and environmental influence of science and technology as they affect our globalised world.
