Catalogue of paint damage types

This book provides a photographic overview of the most frequent paint damages on vehicles caused biological, chemical and industrial influences. Most of the photographs are macroscopic and microscopic reproductions magnified up to max. 50x. Each type of damage is documented by an original size photograph, so that damages in the field can be assessed even without the help of optical devices. Moreover, this book describes common painting flaws and documents them by photographs, too. On the one hand, the catalogue of field damage types is to help all those who are in any way confronted with paint damages on vehicles. On the other, it is to show that, at present, there is no paint system that is fully resistant to aggressive biological and chemical influences including bird droppings and insect secretions.
