This is the second of two handbook volumes which present a wide-ranging review of current knowledge in the areas of chemical carcinogenesis and mutagenesis. Whereas the first volume covers the theories of carcinogenesis, exposure to chemical carcinogens, in vivo and in vitro carcinogenesis, and reactions of carcinogens with DNA, this second volume concentrates on the relationships between mutagenesis and carcinogenesis, modifiers of chemical carcinogenesis, and oncogenes in tumour development. Both volumes are of broad interest to pharmacologists and toxicologists and appeal especially to graduate and post-graduate research workers. This may be the first work ever to cover the complete range of carcinogenesis, from epidemiology to the effects of oncogenes on cellular differentiation. Thus it provides specialists in particular areas of cancer research with up-to-date overviews of adjacent areas.
