Circa A Novel

Dana Montgomery, a typical sixteen-year-old, just wants to find her place in this world. But unlike other people her age, she's discovered a rather unique way to find where she belongs. After doing some research on her family history in her aunt's attic, Dana stumbles upon a mysterious pocket watch with strange symbols and markings. Unaware of its purpose, she opens it outside only to find that when the sun hits the ruby stone, an overwhelming feeling of nausea comes over her. Suddenly, her house looks different, the cars are different, and her favorite tree looks smaller. She is in the year 1950! At first this time-traveling watch seems like a blessing. She starts making friends in different decades and even dabbles in changing past events—like the Great Chicago Fire. But once a strange woman in a floral dress starts popping up wherever Dana travels, she begins feeling suspicious, and things start spiraling out of control. A stranger in a red Mustang tries to break into her aunt and uncle's home, the woman in the floral dress shows up more and more frequently, and Dana's friend from the past asks her to do the unthinkable.
