This book is aimed to help the practicing doctors. The management of a patient needs the team work of doctor, nurse, pharmacist and laboratory personnel. The diagnosis, nowadays, is heavily dependent on laboratory results. Therefore, it is absolutely essential for a clinician to have a wide knowledge of clinical chemistry. However, most of the practicing doctors do not get the time to go through the volumes of clinical chemistry publications released during the recent years. This book gives the overview of basics as well as advances in a summarized form, so that busy physicians can get the idea, without going through unnecessary details. The whole book is written in a practical-oriented manner. For the continuation of the textbooks, it is necessary to induct young blood into the editorial group. In this connection, we were lucky to introduce two young but active academicians into this task.
