Core Curriculum for Intravenous Nursing

Published under the auspices of the Intravenous Nurses Society (INS), this manual offers practitioners the knowledge needed to obtain certification in the intravenous specialty. This revised edition reflects the revised INS standards, relates technological advances, their clinical application, and information on the expansion of the specialty in a comprehensive outline format. The intravenous nursing core curriculum consists of nine content areas: technology and clinical applications; fluid and electrolyte therapy; pharmacology; infection control; paediatrics; transfusion therapy; antineoplastic therapy; parenteral nutrition; and quality assurance. Each chapter contains the content used for the development of test questions for the certification examination.
