Craniospinal Trauma (Trauma Management)

In response to the fact that trauma to the head and the spine is by far the leading cause of death and persistent disability after injuries, the Joint Section on Neurotrauma and Critical Care of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons and the Congress of Neurological Surgeons has compiled 20 papers that together provide a comprehensive overview of current knowledge on the care of trauma to the central nervous system. The principles outlined can be used by neurosurgeons and other medical specialists to develop a system for the rapid and efficient evaluation and management of the neurotrauma patient.
