Making use of the official List of Prohibited Substances and Methods issued by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), Elsevier has published the Doping Search Guide 2004, designed to help sports physicians, coaches and administrators avoid administering drugs containing prohibited substances. This new publication contains more than 10,000 terms and synonyms for the substances on the current WADA list. Valuable information such as trade names from all over the globe, chemical names and research codes are also included.Terms in this book have been selected for EMTREE only if they were mentioned in at least five published scientific articles. This means that this guide does not per se cover every prohibited substance that exists. At the same time, certain substances that are covered in this guide are allowed under certain circumstances and/or for specific use. If in doubt whether a specific substance is allowed or not, please seek the advice of an expert. Such experts are usually available at the National Doping Agencies. Contact information for those agencies is available at the WADA.
