Studies issues, experiences, and trends in shipping operational systems related electromagnetic compatibility (EMC). Electromagnetic compatibility and a ships operational systems is an area constantly evolving from the early days of few electrical devices to the highly complex installations in vessels now. This book looks at how the EMC of shipping operational systems has become a major safety issue, and describes the practices, tools and techniques of current ships operational systems achieving EMC. This volume also discusses various system components, their configuration and architectures and the the EMC issues associated with these installations, while touching upon the likely causes and effects arising out of constant use, specially referring to the involvement of non standard components and assemblies and will act as a guide for new builds and re-engineering of EMC equipment on board Merchant Navy Ships.
