Growth hormone (GH) is a peptide hormone that stimulates growth, cell reproduction and regeneration in humans and other animals. In this book, the authors present current research in the study of the synthesis, regulation and health implications of growth hormones. Topics include the effect of growth hormone on lipid metabolism; a stability study of somatropin by capillary zone electrophoresis; cardiac effects of growth hormone treatment in paediatric populations; and human growth hormone treatment in patients with Crohn's disease.
