This is second edition of the book. The book contains two plays which present different aspects pertaining to management of stoke in the ICU. The plays also contain stories about two different families who fact similar situation in their life. The new edition contains more details about stroke management and rehabilitation. In the first edition the emphasis was upon the importance of first 3 hours in the management of stroke. In this edition the introduction to angiography* techniques at some specialized hospitals for giving clot dissolving medicines for management of ischemic s troke has been included. The use of angiography techniques for giving clot dissolving drugs trough arteries* has increased the critical period of stroke management to 6 hours. This edition also highlights the importance of rehabilitation of a stroke patient thereby making the plays more complete. A small note in simple language on the management and rehabilitation of stroke has been included in the last pages of the book in order to highlight the medical aspects which are not given in detail in the plays. the play ICU 2 presents the treatment of storke in a patient who reaches the hospital within the critical period of 3 hours. This short skit is about Mr. Rakesh and his family who are staying in a rented house and are about to purchase a new house of their own when the incident happens. Only releavant medical facts are presented without going into details. The plays are not medical texts and only attempts to present necessary medical facts about the management of stroke to a non medical person. The language used to describe medical facts is also simplified to suit the requirements and understanding of a non medical person. The stories is both the plays are connected and about characters staying in the same locality hence both the plays can be presented together on state. In fact to present both the plays together shall be necessary to show the importance of tome in management of stroke.
