"Interface is a thriller set in the near future, in this case in a world where everyone is linked 24/7 in an information stream carried by brain implants (imagine our present-day Internet and social media on steroids). The book can be read as a critique of social media addiction, or as an exploration of the way technology changes society, government and even human nature. The plot is kicked into motion when Taiki Graf, the genius behind the Interface system, turns against his own creation, viewing it as destructive to the human spirit. He devises a fatal brain virus, called a prion, that can be transmitted through the Interface, and which he intends to unleash on the public to blackmail everyone into ditching their implants. A former lover of his, Yara Avril, now a captain with the NYPD, tries to stop him. Complications mount as Taiki methodically tests his electronic virus, step by step, precipitating an ever-accelerating sequence of madness and mass murder"--
