MAK values (Maximum Concentrations at the Workplace) and BAT values (Biological Tolerance Values) promote the protection of health at the workplace. They are used in occupational medicine for the risk- assessment of hazardous substances. The core of this report is a list of MAK values for more than 500 chemical compounds frequently detected at the workplace. Annotations are made for skin absorption, sensitization, pregnancy, genetic damage, peak limitation category, etc. Carcinogens are considered in detail seperately.
