Literature Reading and Writing, the Human Experience

New edition of an anthology meant to be used as a tool for learning about literature analysis and critical thinking. Including works by Emma Goldman, Chinua Achebe, Emily Dickinson, Katsushika Hokusai, Sophocles, Henrik Ibsen, Jonathan Swift, Lawrence Ferlinghetti, Leo Tolstoy, and others, works of fiction, essays, plays, poems, and works of visual art are presented thematically with critical questions for the student included alongside. After an introductory chapter on thinking about literature, the works are organized into chapters on: innocence and experience, conformity and rebellion, culture and identity, love and hate, and the presence of death.
