Mandy's Courage to Stand

In "Courage to Stand," the author depicts the reality of teenage problems in this amazing fictional piece to show the world of adolescents, and adults alike, that following Jesus does not exempt one from the devastating blows of life. "Get out! Get out!" I screamed. "Don't look at me! Get out!" I charged at him and pushed him hard to force him out. My room---this space was all I had left---the only place left to hide from the rest of the world. This young girl, Mandy, demonstrates a sobering lesson in her struggles to survive her own devastating blows even at her lowest point, where she found herself slipping away from God. She teaches us that as Christians, young or old, the challenges we face are there to fuel our strength, move our faith, and construct unimaginable ways to show love.
