Manure Management, Uses and Environmental Impacts

Manure is organic matter used as organic fertiliser in agriculture. Manure contributes to the fertility of the soil by adding organic matter and nutrients, such as nitrogen that is trapped by bacteria in the soil. As the interest in organic farming and renewable energy production continues to grow, manure is playing an important role in the production of bioenergy, food, and other agricultural products.
