Molecular Diagnosis

There has been a rapid introduction of nucleic acid-based analysis techniques into diagnostic labs. This book presents the theory and approaches of molecular methods to the diagnosis of genetic diseases, cancer, and viral, bacterial and parasitic infections. The theory of nucleic acid structure and function is summarized to explain hybridization, and the diagnostic approaches are detailed. Techniques are described at a level sufficient to understand how they can be used to detect nucleic-acid presence, alteration or relocation associated with disease.
