'Place', a sense of place of unique human attachment is the bedrock of the architectural approach by this Practice. The configuration of space and form, functional relationships of materials [and use] and defining, articulating and celebrating the design of a place represents MRY's methodology. There is a sense that their architecture is at the service of larger ideas about living, which is expressed in the process of place-making. This response to contemporary life, the influence of Charles Moore, the emphasis on shared architectural values - and much else besides - all form the focus of these pages. The range of recent, functionally varied projects from all over the world demonstrates how MRY's value system can be adapted and made suitable for almost every client and every project.
