Nigeria Conditions, Issues and U. S. Relations

The US government considers its relationship with Nigeria, Africa's largest producer of oil and its second largest economy, to be among the most important on the continent. Nigeria is Africa's most populous country, with over 170 million people, roughly divided between Muslims and Christians. This book examines current conditions, issues and US relations with Nigeria, with a focus on human rights; religious freedom; and economic and business affairs.
