Pathways to Obesity and Main Roads to Recovery

The similar body images of obese patients frequently hide psycho-pathological and medical differences needing different therapeutic approaches. A group of experts in the field focus on recent findings and future perspectives on onset mechanisms and therapeutic strategies for obesity treatment. This book presents research data on the genetic, endocrinological, psychological and familial factors that can induce obesity. Also presented is a medical and psychological assessment of obese patients, a sort of flow chart useful in discriminate different "obesities", including a list of instruments useful to find out medical and psychological diseases frequently related to obesity.
