Many existing results in the literature together with several new results are introduced using a common notation and a clear yet efficient language. A computer algebra approach is adopted. Hence, not only a solution to a given pole assignment problem, but also the set of solutions are considered. A post-Kharitonov type approach is used to find robust pole assignment compensators for systems with parametric uncertainty. This book covers the pole assignment problem, one of the major topics of the control systems theory. Many existing results in the literature together with several new results are introduced using a common notation and a clear language. Interval uncertainties, which can arise from uncertainties in the physical parameters of systems, are also considered in the book, and robust pole assignment methods, which reduce the effects of such uncertainties, are suggested.
