Psychiatric Research Trends Dreams and Geriatric Psychiatry

Dreams are a series of images, ideas, emotions, and sensations occurring involuntarily in the mind during certain stages of sleep. The content and purpose of dreams are not fully understood, though they have been a topic of speculation and interest throughout recorded history. Dreams and sleep disorders are commonly found among the geriatric population. Several factors may contribute to these sleep disturbances, such as health problems or changes in ones circadian rhythm.
