Radiologic Approach to Diseases of the Chest

This volume contains 43 contributions divided into three sections. The first section, the diagnosis of thoracic abnormalities, includes papers on such topics as thoracic trauma, pulmonary alveolar consolidation, cysts and cavities of the lung, the immunocompromised patient, pulmonary arterial hypertension, the neonatal chest, and chest imaging in the ICU. The second section, treating specific diseases of the thorax, includes articles on thromboembolic disease, pulmonary viral infections, thoracic fungal infections, pulmonary metastatic disease, drug-induced diseases of the thorax and reaction to radiation therapy, and acquired immune deficiency syndrome. The final section, containing only four contributions, addresses special topics: transthoracic needle biopsy, helical (spiral) CT scanning of the thorax, digital chest radiography, and magnetic resonance imaging of the thorax.
