Reading for Results

Reading for Results features selections that sharpen students' reading skills and encourage them to become careful and committed readers. In addition to getting vocabulary pointers and using SQ3R, students learn how to find main ideas, locate supporting details, draw appropriate inferences, recognize patterns of development, understand visual aids, and read more critically.End-of-chapter readings allow students to practice their skills on both paragraphs and longer, multi-paragraph selections.The Getting Focused CD-ROM, developed by Laraine and Ulrich Flemming, offers students a carefully sequenced program of explanations, exercises, tests, and tutorials.
