He is full member of Novgorod Society of Fanciers of Antiquities. Since 1994 he manages field researches of medieval sites at the Novgorod region. arlier during 7 years he taught Archaeology of the Iron Age and Archaeological Historiography at St. Petersburg State University, Historical Faculty. In 2003 he was o-ordinator of the 9th Annual Meeting of European Association of Archaeologists at St. Petersburg.
